Description
The Zuccale Beach
The Beach of Zuccale lies in the Golfo Stella, on the southern side of the island, between two small promontories rich in Mediterranean bush. Sitting in one of the most beautiful parts of the Island of Elba, it is also one of the most beautiful coves in Capoliveri.
Only 100 metres long, the west winds blow here, and you have a magnificent view not only of the Capo Stella promontory, but also of Monte Capanne.
It is a sandy beach with crystal clear water, and the surrounding countryside is very quiet and peaceful.
Tourism here has increased over the years thanks both to the large, public car park behind it, and improved beach facilities, but it is still of rare beauty especially in low season.
Take the turning at Mola on the tarred road for Capoliveri , but turn right at the junction for Madonnina before you get to the town and follow the “Barabarca – Zuccale” signs down for about 800 metres. There is a large, fee paying car park at the end of the road, and you will see a short path with about seventy steps that take you right to the beach. The Capoliveri Town Council runs a public shuttle service to and from the beach during the summer months.
