Hotel Airone is situated in San Giovanni, in the bay of Portoferraio in a quiet area, surrounded by a large park-garden full of palm trees, maritime pines, eucalyptus trees. The hotel’s gardens extend to the sea right in front of the splendid Rocca Medicea di Portoferraio.
A complex designed for those looking for high comfort during their holiday, where the good hotel tradition is combined with a considerable variety of recreational and sporting activities as well as the services offered.
The hotel management pays particular attention to children and their needs. For younger guests there are recreational areas, swimming pool and “dedicated” menus, entertainment with activities and workshops organized to find together the desire to have fun in safety. All managed with attention to detail that make the holiday of adults and children truly special.
Gastronomy
Breakfast
The rich and delicious buffet breakfast is served in the enchanting scenery of the terrace. The homemade pastries are accompanied by organic and light products, a wide selection of local products, from jams to fresh fruit and a varied selection of cheeses, meats, bread and buns, toast, corn flakes, muesli and cereals, as well as, eggs and bacon and omelets made to order by our chef. All accompanied by coffee, tea and fresh squeezed juices. For those who want to enjoy breakfast in the room, we offer the rich breakfast menu that can be chosen and ordered the night before. Our collaborators will bring your chosen drinks and dishes to your room at the chosen time.
Bar
Located poolside, in the shade of fresh and modern bioclimatic pergolas, an ideal spot to enjoy sandwiches, bruschetta, maxi-toast, wood oven pizzas and fresh salads with tasty compositions. Allow yourself the pleasure to sip a cool drink or a cocktail at sunset and listen to good music from our piano bar.
Restaurant and Barbecue
At “Le Antiche Saline” restaurant we offer for lunch grilled fresh fish, pasta and wood oven pizza. Dinner is of considerable gastronomic value (4 menus to choose from) and is served at the table with further reinforcement of an excellent served buffet with vegetables, salads, cheeses and pastries. The imagination of our chefs also teases guests with themed evenings with tasting menus, dishes from the Mediterranean school and tasty recipes from the Tuscan and island tradition; original vegetarian dishes and particular attention to the needs of individual guests. All made with high quality raw materials and local products. Difficult to find the words to present the grand buffet on the lawn by the pool with typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine and international dishes, live cooking, land and sea grill … the magic of soft lights, the sea breeze and background music .. impossible to describe … but you can allow yourself to try it. A new opportunity, the take away menu, to be consumed on the terrace or in the garden of your room. Orders are welcome from 10.00 to 17.00, and your basket with hot or cold dishes, chosen from the tasty proposals of our chef, will be delivered to you at the time chosen.
Kids’ menu
From June to mid-September, for your children, who during their stay at Hotel Airone we like to consider even a little … “ours”, we offer the “Peter Pan Menu”, tailored to the little ones, their wishes and their forks, with healthy and adequate dishes that satisfy all the requests of mothers, even the most demanding (mom’s word!). Lunch is our (free) gift for children in half board treatment, at the table with their parents.

Beach: free of charge for our Guests the beach (artificial) equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, the Olympic swimming pool with sea water and the special tub bath Open Air (from the end of May until the end of September). For children, the degrading and round pool with slide and lots of games.
Alternatively, you will have the opportunity to visit other beautiful beaches on our island, with special conditions reserved for our guests. With our Taxi boat, upon daily reservation and subject to availability, it will also be possible to reach “Bagnaia” beach, where we can reserve beach umbrellas and sun loungers for you at an agreed price (Taxi boat and umbrella € 10,00 per person – children under 12 free – service from mid June to mid September). For sport lovers 1 tennis court in synthetic, 1 synthetic multipurpose field, ping pong, jogging area, or the walk along the sea and through the centuries-old park of the Thermal Bain, with the enchanting view of the bay of Portoferraio. It is also possible to practice swimming courses with FIP instructor, mountain bike tours, trekking and walks through the most suggestive paths of the Island.
Entertainment
The large spaces of the Hotel Airone allow you to enjoy a sporting holiday or in complete relaxation, choosing the method you prefer. Daily appointments for adults with water and land sports activities: jogging, muscle toning on the lawn, water aerobics, canoeing and sup, pilates and yoga at sunset.
Even the evening is full of proposals, thanks to the aperitifs with piano bar and the lively nightlife with shows, cabaret and beach parties, with music and dancing until late at night.
Children
Children at Hotel Airone are guests of honor because family holidays run smoothly and without worries. From morning to evening, the entertainment team fills the Mini Club, a real amusement park for children and teenagers, with games, workshops and lots of energy. The Baby Club is dedicated to the little ones, from 4 to 8 years, the Junior Club to the older ones.
The different thematic areas, the mini club, the theater and the green and fun recycling area, will allow the little ones to be together safely without disappointing the desire to have fun and discover new worlds with the company of experienced animators.
On request individual swimming and diving courses for children, cot and high chairs, bottle warmers, bath tubs, babysitting service.
Diving Centre PADI
“And finally you could discover the two-thirds of the word in which you live.”
This phrase is the introduction of the “Diving in Elba” to everyone who would like to start their dive experience. “Diving in Elba” is based in the Hotel Airone for years, the instructors, all certified with several years experience offer you different kind of courses from beginners to advanced ones, all managed by instructors who look after every single diver and his safety. Courses for children from the age of 8 with “Scuba baby school” are also available.
In this case professional instructors will teach the guys the diving discipline and the education to the sea world. Service on payment.
Equipped dock for boats
Hotel Airone is one of the few hotels on Elba to be equipped by a private dock with electricity and water who allows you to moor your private boat or craft close to your room.
Your place is reserved and assisted. From our dock… to all the wonderful beaches of the coast.
