Description
Frugoso beach
Elba’s most northern beach –also called Capo Castello after the promontory at the east – is at the end of the small town of Cavo.
It’s a middle sized beach (about 500 metres long) consisting of light and dark coloured small pebbles near the entrance, while on the left part it consists of large stones as far as Capo Vita. The water is crystal clear, so you can easily do some underwater swimming with just your mask and snorkel.
There is a beautiful Mediterranean wood behind it, and on the horizon you can easily see the stretch of sea that reaches Piombino with the tiny island of Topi in the foreground only 450 metres away, that you can easily reach by boat or canoe.
Frugoso is without a doubt the most peaceful beach in Cavo, and is the perfect choice for those who want some peace and quiet but at the same time want to be in close contact with nature.
How to get to Frugoso beach
Just follow the Kennedy sea front then take Via Procchi. Access to the beach is at the end of the road next to the pine grove and the car park.
