Description
Beach of Seccione – Portoferraio
Also called Prunini, Seccione beach is but one of the many completely natural beaches on the northern side of Portoferraio.
It is at the foot of the steep cliffs of Montebello, with Mediterranean bush all around that goes as far down as the white pebbles mixed with sand beach. A white strip of land separates the deep, green vegetation from the turquoise blue sea.
The beach is 250 metres long and faces north; it is very quiet even during the summer, partly because there are no bathing establishments here, and partly because you have to go down 200 steps to get to it. It is therefore perfect for nature lovers who also want peace and quiet.
In order to fully appreciate the beauty of this beach, we suggest you stop from time to time and look down as you drive towards it.
Take the road from Portoferraio to Enfola and go round the roundabout. You will see the sign for “Seccione” about 1,4 km farther along, and at this point go down the 200 steps.
