Description
Beach of Mola
The beach is at the end of the gulf bearing the same name, and the migrating fauna to be found there make it one of the most interesting beaches on the Island of Elba.
The coast isn’t really suitable if you want to go for a swim. For centuries this beach was the landing place for Capoliveri, and residents still moor their boats there. In the dockyard of Marina di Mola, on the right, you can moor your boat either in the wet dock or along the wharfs.
What makes the Beach of Mola stand out, however, is that in 2006 it was the first beach on the Island of Elba to become a Dog Beach; on the right hand side of the beach, dog owners will be pleased to learn that at the establishment built specifically for their pet, they will find sun umbrellas, sun beds, bathing huts, chemical toilets and anything else they may need for their dog. The perfect beach for those who want to bring their dog with them.
There is a large, free car park beside the beach.
Follow the road from Portoferraio to Porto Azzurro, then after about 1 kilometre turn right for Porto Azzurro.
Free car park, dog beach.
