Description
The Beach of Calanchiole
Calanchiole is a very nice sandy beach that is separated from Lido beach by a small, sloping promontory that goes right down to the water, and where there are also some small grottos.
It is 100 metres long with a sandy sea bed, and the water is shallow till quite far out; facing south west in Golfo Stella, on the southern side of the Island of Elba.
It is perfect for families with small children, and since it isn’t exactly easy to get to it is almost the “private beach” of the campsite above it, that uses part of it to provide guests at the campsite with sun beds and sun umbrellas.
Those who have a small boat or rubber dinghy may use the guarded pontoon for mooring.
There is a platform on the left side that is made up of flat rocks that you can easily walk across – not barefoot though – that will take you to the two tiny beaches nearby.
You can get there by sea only, or by swimming past the rocks on the left of Lido di Capoliveri beach.
