Description
Beach della Torre
It is a small sandy and pebbles beach at the foot of the ancient Clock Tower in Rio Marina, built by the Appiani in 1500; in the past it was much longer because it was from here that the iron was loaded on to the boats for shipping.
The ferry wharf on the left and keeps it well sheltered, while a short walk on the right takes you right to a cement platform which is perfect for sunbathing and diving.
Keep going along the scenic walkway and after about 300 metres you will get to the small beach called Marina di Gennaro; a very large pine tree stands out on the beach at the foot of the terraced rocks rich in vineyards so you can’t miss it. Apart from when the scirocco is blowing, this small cove is well sheltered, and is perfect for snorkeling.
Just follow the coastal road from Rio Marina then follow the dirt track.
